IMPORTANT MESSAGE
You will be receiving your 2008 billing statement and annual newsletter shortly. Maintenance fees at still $40.00 per lot for this year. Maintenance fees are usually due May 1 of each year and should be paid by the annual meeting – Saturday, June 14,2008. The treasurer will be available Saturdays in May from 10-12 and the first Saturday in June at the Moon Lake Clubhouse. Join us at the Clubhouse during Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 24 from noon to 3 p.m. for hot dogs and pop and get to meet your current board, find out about the proposed change to our Restrictions and get handouts on local services. New property owners – this is especially for you. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the community. We need your vote! Right now we have 102 votes for the changes to our Restrictions that are badly needed. We need 326 votes to pass. Copies of the current and proposed restrictions are available on line along with an explanation sheet and ballot. We will be mailing a complete package to those who haven’t received one as well. We need the votes by July 8 to be able to file the changes. If this doesn’t pass, we will have to wait another ten years to file. You are invited to the Moon Lake Property Owners Association Annual meeting on Saturday, June 14 at 1:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Township Hall on Williams Road across from Garland. Please make every effort to attend this very important meeting. This year the board positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer and the Directors of Woodridge Estates 1 and 2 as well as Woodland Manor will be available in the normal rotation of board members. Because of resignations, the positions of Vice President, Secretary and Director of Valleywood are also available. Our By-Laws require that the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer be residents of Moon Lake. Because of the low response from residents, the board will place for vote, the proposal to remove residency requirements from all positions at the annual meeting. The treasurer position is a paid position and would help supplement income for someone with some computer skill. Please look into your hearts and consider giving some time to support your community. We have made some good progress in the past year, but unless we get more participation, all that will come to a halt. WE NEED YOU!! Please call the Moon Lake office to find out more or call any of the officers listed for more information. Job Descriptions are found on the website as well. There will also be a vote taken on raising the maintenance fee to $45 as the proposal failed by just 7 votes last year. (Passage requires 2/3 of the votes cast). This motions as made and approved at the last annual meeting, as was a motion to remove residency as a requirement for the secretary’s position. By board action, a vote will be taken to remove residency for all positions. May 10 will be our next Moon Lake Spring Clean Up Day. We will be meeting at the clubhouse at 10:00 to clean up the clubhouse, the pool and park areas. Many hands are needed. This is also Greenwood Township’s annual “Free Dump Day.” Call for more information.
